Unfairtobacco is a longterm supporter of the Human Rights and Tobacco Control Network (HRTCN). The network this year conducts a pre-conference to the 17th World Conference on Tobacco or Health in Cape Town, South Africa, to highlight the links between tobacco control and human rights.
Experts from around the world will share knowledge and experience on sustainable development, the human right to health, child labor and other tobacco farming-related issues, tobacco industry strategies, criminal liability and human rights shadow reporting. Speakers include Leslie London of the University of Cape Town, Laurent Huber of ASH US, human rights legal expert Oscar Cabrera, Mira Aghi of INWAT and Laura Graen of Unfairtobacco.

Participation is free of charge. It is not necessary to register for the World Conference on Tobacco or Health to attend this pre-conference. But you have to register for the pre-conference. Admission is on a first come, first serve basis. Guests must show proof of identity to enter the venue. Individuals with affiliations to tobacco entities, including the PMI-funded Foundation, are not eligible to attend or present at this conference.
