Interactive learning in global contexts

Do you work in a school or youth facility in Berlin or Brandenburg? Are you looking for [German Only] project days and workshops that offer a unique approach to addiction prevention and explain global connections of goods?

We will be glad to help you with that.

We offer workshops and project days [German Only] for schools, youth centers and other education facilities. We adapt to the interest, knowledge and abilities of each group and learn interactively.

Usually, we work with students aged 12 and older. The goal is for students to discuss with each other and form their own opinion.

How do we do that? Here are some examples:

  • The exhibition Raw Materials for Tobacco and Nicotine Products allows the students to gather information on the environment, working conditions or health in the supply chains. They check out one of the products in a small group, including one group discovering people committed to sustainable change. Together again they compare their results and discuss ways of action to change. They can also present their knowledge to their fellow students by giving a small tour of the exhibition at a prevention day.
  • Fabricating the crafting model Our Right to a Tobacco-free World, students can deal with children’s rights and learn more about how the tobacco industry harms their rights and the rights of other children. Together, they dicuss and create solutions.
  • The simulation game Tobacco in Bralavia recreates the situation in a tobacco growing country. The students take on the roles of governments, tobacco farmers, civil society, companies and discuss together about the future of an imaginary country.
  • With our digital slideshows, the students are able to learn about global relations in tobacco cultivation, human rights and environment. They can watch a short film and complete a quiz.
  • Last but not least, while taking apart disposable e-cigarettes, the students find out about the resources required for electronic tobacco or nicotine products. In a quiz, they learn various details about the supply chains of these raw materials.

Currently, these offers are in German only. If you are interested in a translation or other, feel free to contact us. We are happy to support you in creating a program for your class or group.
